IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vickie Loraine
Walters
July 7, 1948 – December 31, 2024
Washington, Utah – Vickie Loraine Walters was born July 7, 1948, in Tooele, Utah to Ross and Virginia Eyre Mickelson. She was the only daughter in a houseful of rowdy brothers. She had many stories of adventures trying to keep those boys in line. Vickie attended school in Toole, and while still in high school met and married David Stewart. Not long after they were married, they were stationed in Germany and Vickie still a young girl went to live two years in Germany. She loved it and the friends she met there. After that they moved to Colorado, Oklahoma, and St. George. They had three children, Sonya, Shane and Shannon. They later divorced. While Vickie was a cute sassy server at Dennys she met her husband, Ben. Vickie and Ben enjoyed taking their 'tin teepee' to the Mountain Man Rendezvous and Shoots. They took their grandkids and taught them the ways of the mountain men, dressed in primitive clothes and competed in shooting black powder, bow and arrow, and throwing hawks. The grandkids loved going and looked forward to it every year.
Vickie was a great cook and homemaker, she loved to collect and refinish antique furniture, and paint and remodel homes. She always put her special unique touch in all she did. Everyone was always welcome and loved at Vickie's home, if she was yelling at you, she loved you, but mostly she was laughing with you. She had the best laugh and loved to have fun. She always had a houseful of dogs, cats, and kids and crazy friends whom she loved unconditionally. She enjoyed building and furnishing doll houses. Her kids and grandkids were the light of her life, but we all thought she loved us most because that's how she made everyone feel.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Terry Mickelson; sister-in-law, Ruth Mickelson; and her husband, Benny Walters
She is survived by her children: Sonya (Kenny) Gibbons, Shane (Joanie) Stewart, Shannon (Jake) Doran; step daughter, Jenny (Brandon) Neild; brothers: Richard (Marie) Mickelson, Edward Mickelson, and Greg (Terri) Mickelson; nine grandchildren: Caden (Brittney) Jacey, Kattaleya, Mickelson, Chloe, Shelby, Randon, Riley and Braxton; one great granddaughter, Oakley; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends
Love you the Mostes, til we meet again.
