Obituary

St. George, UT - Virgil Gene Davis passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 due to complications of Myasthenia Gravis and other health related issues. He was born September 19, 1927 in Evanston, Wyoming to Hubert Davis and Cora Daniels-Brown. He married Dorothy White in Evanston, Wyoming and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They had four children, Marlene (Bruce) Niederhauser of St. George, Chris (Debbie) of Las Vegas, Becky (deceased) and Alan (Jen) of Beaverton, Oregon. He resided in Ogden, Utah, Cathedral City, CA, Star Valley Ranches, WY, St. George, UT, and Beaver Dam, AZ. Virgil enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17, serving during World War II. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years, retiring as an Engineer. He also built many houses, duplexes, and an Ultra Light Plane. Virgil and Dorothy loved to travel the world, visiting Alaska, Mexico, South America, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Easter Island, Hawaii, Tahiti and Switzerland. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ralph, sister, Ila Ashton, daughter, Becky, and great-grandson, Max Niederhauser. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, sister, Muriel Kidd, three children,10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Virgil requested that no services be held.
