St. George, Utah - Virginia Anderson, 89, passed away April 19, 2011 after a short illness. Virginia was born to Maude and Ray Williams on November 24, 1921 in Los Angeles, CA. She was raised in Los Angeles with two sisters and one brother. In 1939, she married Roger Taylor and they had one son, Larry. They later divorced and in 1948, Virginia married Richard Anderson. Virginia worked many years for auto dealerships as a bookkeeper. They moved to New Jersey to start a restaurant supply business and later moved to Northern California to retire in Shingle Springs, California. Virginia and her little Yorkie, Pita, moved to Santa Clara, Utah in 2004 and later moved to live at The Meadows Retirement Community in November 2009. Virginia enjoyed volunteering at DRMC in the gift shop for many years. She loved living in Southern Utah. Virginia will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sandy Taylor of Ivins, UT; her sister, Pat Pemberton of Bullhead City, AZ; three loving grandchildren: Molly (Russell) Dugan of Las Vegas, NV, Shaun (Jennifer) Taylor of Azusa, CA and Dan (Kristye) Younce of Santa Rosa, CA; and all eight of her special great-grandchildren: Scott, Ashley Rose, Deric, Amanda, Ashley Kay, DJ (Mandie) and Nevaeh. She was also blessed with her little great-great-granddaughter, Maddie. Virginia also leaves a sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews in Southern California and Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; her sister, Mildred; and her brother, Duke. The family would like to thank Dr. Sarah Wu and the nurses at Dixie Regional Medical Centers ICU and the 3rd and 2nd floors. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Red Cliffs Regional for their compassionate care during her last days. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at The Meadows Retirement Community, 950 South 400 East, St. George, Utah. Virginia was a very generous, kind and loving lady.
