IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Lee
Forsyth Edwards
September 24, 1932 – July 9, 2012
Central, UT - Virginia Forsyth Edwards, age 79, of Central, Utah, left her loved ones on this earth to continue her journey on the morning of July 9, 2012 unexpectedly with her loving husband, "Bud", by her side. She was born on September 24, 1932 in Caliente, Nevada to Stanley and Annie Swensen Forsyth. She had three brothers and one sister.
Virginia graduated valedictorian from Lincoln County High School. She was a voracious reader, crossword puzzle "junkie", and a life-long learner. Grandma had a wonderful marriage, family, and life for 64 years in Caliente. She was the neighborhood mom with the gateway to the "crick" in her backyard. Virginia and Bud were deeply involved in the community of Caliente and had many friends that they loved dearly. She was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, walking with Jerrolyn, picnics with her family and dear husband. Virginia was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved her calling as Primary Secretary and Scout Leader for decades. They retired and relocated to Central, Utah in 1998 where they enjoyed their cabin, trees, garden, and especially the birds. They rarely left each others side until Buds recent illness. She never missed any of her childrens ballgames, concerts, or events, and even rarely missed her grandchildrens events. She will be missed by many.
Virginia is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Harvey "Bud", her three children: Michael (Marla) Edwards, Shellie (Lee) Singleton, and Todd (Cindy) Edwards, brothers: Stan and Fred Forsyth, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Hansen and brother, Allen.
A gathering of friends and family to honor Virginia will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Primary Childrens Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, Utah 84158-0249, (801) 662-5959 or the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
