Vivian Marie Lawson St. George, UT - Vivian Marie Lawson, 78, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in St. George due to complications from surgery. She was born January 31, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Marie and John T. Markstrom. She spent her youth growing up in Royal Oak, Michigan with one older sister and two younger brothers. She married her sweetheart, Walter H. Lawson on September 20, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. Vivian and Walter moved to Southern California in 1956 and raised three daughters. Vivian worked as an office manager for a dentist for 35 years. She was blessed with many talents. She was an excellent seamstress and she spent many hours doing cross stitch work making pieces of art for her family. She was a great cook and she loved to entertain and was always a gracious hostess. Vivian and Walter traveled to the land of their heritage, Sweden many times and to other parts of Europe. She was a strong, beautiful woman who had an enduring love for each member of her family. Vivian was class and grace. Her radiant smile and fun sense of humor touched all who knew her. She set an example of true courage and bravery and she will be dearly missed by all who love her. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Walter Lawson; daughters: Sandra (Robert) Steele of Santa Rosa, CA, Suzanne (Brigham) Bergstrom of St. George, UT, Yvonne (Robert) Marsic of Seattle, WA; her brothers: Thomas (JoAnn) Markstrom and John (Mary Lou) Markstrom; six grandchildren: Kelly, Keri, Kristine, Brigham, Brittany, Michele (Luke); one great-granddaughter, Vivian Marie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Julia Ann (Fred) Hyre and her nephew, John D. Markstrom. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 611 North 2450 East, St. George, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vivians name to your favorite charity.
