Obituary

St. George, Utah – W. Edward Eldridge, 94, previously of Mesa, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2017. He was born on December 1, 1922 in Lansing, Michigan to Edward and Esther Eldridge.
Ed's formal education began at Michigan State College followed by a Bachelor's of Science Degree from Washington State College in 1948 and Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1958.
Ed is a veteran of WWII having served as a photo lab technician for aerial photo reconnaissance missions over Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe military campaigns. He was later commissioned Lt. Commander of the U.S. Public Health Service, assisting in the design of the Federal Construction Agency's water resource projects. He later assisted the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with water quality management planning and supervising lake restoration projects in the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Ed retired from the EPA, coming from Washington State to Arizona with his wife Doris in 1983, then to Utah in 2011.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Doris. He is survived by sons: John and Ron (Jill) of Mesa, AZ, and Tom (Marie) of Woodville, WA; daughters: Carole Pyper of St. George and Barbara (Donald) Black of Maricopa, AZ. Ed is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of St. George.
