Obituary

REST IN PEACE We are saddened to announce that W. Scott Jenson passed away April 4, 2013 at his home in Cane Beds, AZ, at the age of 72. He was born May 13, 1940 in Cedar City, UT, the youngest of six children for Kimball and Elene Jenson. He was very young when his father died and he learned responsibility at a young age. His mother, who never remarried, raised Scott and his five older siblings on the family farm near Cedar City, UT. After graduating from Cedar City High School in the late 1950's, he attended college at the College of Southern Utah. He married IraLou Wilcock in the very early 1960's and they had two beautiful daughters, Kimece and Shelee. They divorced after settling in Las Vegas, NV and in the very late 1960's he married Judy Spies and adopted her young daughter, Shelley. Scott and Judy had a daughter, Elene and then a son, Robert before divorcing in 1978. On December 6, 1994 Scott married Donna Jenson and accepted her daughter, Chandra as his own. Other than returning to Cedar City to run his family farm for a few years in the mid 1970's, Scott spent most of his adult years working road construction in Las Vegas, NV. After leaving his position as a foreman for Charlie Brown Construction in 1979, he went to work for Las Vegas Paving Corp. He was in upper management at Las Vegas Paving Corp. until he retired. In 2005 Scott was asked to return to Las Vegas Paving and manage the 95 Widening Project, which at the time was the largest contract ever to be awarded in the state of Nevada. Scott was an active man and he loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and sportsman, equestrian, accomplished thoroughbred owner and trainer, team roper (accomplished header and heeler), golfer and a devoted and loyal friend to those who knew him. When he retired he preferred to stay at their home in Cane Beds, AZ, where he cared for his ailing brother Kimner. Together with his wife Donna, they raised and trained race horses. Other than building roads, horses were his number one passion and he was an incredible horseman. Scott enjoyed life and was very successful in everything he did. Scott was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be truly missed. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Kimball Jenson; his mother, Elene Jenson; his sisters: Juliene Campbell and Sara Macfarlane; and his brothers: Garth Jenson, Kimner Jenson and David Jenson. He leaves behind his loving wife, Donna and daughter Chandra Pypeman, both of Las Vegas, NV; his loyal companion Jackson (who was with him when he passed); his daughters: Kimece Larson of Cedar City, UT, Shelley Collier of Fernley, NV, Shelee Rainey of Las Vegas, NV, Elene Tobie Lamb of Reno, NV; and his only son, Robert Kimball "Bucky" Jenson of Mammoth, CA. Also surviving are six granddaughters; seven grandsons; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and more true friends than most people ever dream of. Scott Jenson was an amazing man who will live on forever in the hearts and souls of all those who knew him. A visitation will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Greens Lake LDS Ward Chapel, 1120 West Greens Lake Drive, Cedar City, Utah. prior to funeral services which will be held at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Cedar City Cemetery.
