Wesley Don Pack was born in Venice, California on May 10, 1931 to Wesley Malin Pack and Helen (Heppler) Pack. As a young boy he was captivated by nature, learning about and painting birds, riding horses, hiking and fishing. His art, exploring nature, music, training horses and his growing family became the greatest sources of happiness in his adult life.
Don met Marie Chappelle at UCLA, married her in 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple then served in the U.S. Army in in Kyoto, Japan.
Don practiced dentistry in Mill Valley, California for 30 years and served as a beloved scoutmaster for 25 years in Greenbrae, California. He is also remembered and loved for his service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a hike leader for decades in the Young Women Camp Program and as a Patriarch in the San Rafael California Stake.
Don is survived by his sisters Carol Maxwell of Cary, North Carolina and Vona Pack of Holbrook, Arizona; his brothers Deloy Pack (Alison) of Provo, Utah and Bud Pack (Judy) of Holbrook, Arizona; his children Wesley Don Pack, Jr. (Jeanne) of Leonard, Michigan; Sandra Chappelle of Auburn, California; Doni Pack of Ivins, Utah; Gina Ginouves (Ed) of Cedar City, Utah; Kelly Beck (Tracy) of Orem, Utah; William Chappell Pack (Bettina) of Palos Verdes Estates; grandchildren Justin, Jordan, Weston, Austin, Shaunee, Alden, Dyani, Sam, Jenna, Josiah, Sarah, Ben, Mollie, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Ashley, Stephen, Matthew, Kirstin, Nicholas, Caroline; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in the Larkin Mortuary 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City. Viewing will precede at 1 pm and graveside services will follow in the Salt Lake Cemetery.
