IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Zachary James
Lee Cox
November 25, 1983 – October 19, 2021
St. George - Zachary James Lee Cox, age 37, peacefully passed away October 19, 2021, after a battle with COVID-19. Zack is survived by his wife, Carly Cox (Butterfield) and daughter, Spencer Cox.
Zack was born November 25, 1983, to Royce Matthews in Stockton California. He moved to Northern Utah at a young age where he spent most of his childhood, he moved to Southern Utah in his 20s and resided there ever since. Zack had some odd jobs as a young adult, but he found his calling when he joined Dixie Ophthalmic Specialists in 2007, he quickly excelled and became the clinic supervisor. In 2009 two ophthalmology clinics combined and this was when he met the love of his life and best friend, Carly, she was working for the Zion Eye Institute. Zack and Carly married August 11, 2012, in St. George, Utah and welcomed their sweet baby girl, Spencer Ann Cox in 2018. Spencer loves her dada and Zack loves his little girl more than anything in this world. After getting married Zack returned to school and obtained his bachelor's degree in hospital administration and took over the position of administrator at the Zion Eye Institute and Zion Surgery center. He was a wonderful mentor and boss, his answer to any issue was "we will make it happen" and he did, he was very accommodating and there wasn't a problem he couldn't solve. He was a hard and devoted worker and respected in the ophthalmology and medical community.
Zack had an impact on many lives and always had sound advice to give to anyone that would seek it. He was a bit of a techy and always needed the latest in computers and phones. He loved riding bikes with his family and taking them out in his side by side. Zack wanted nothing more in life then to have a family of his own, they were his pride and joy. He was a doting and protective father and loved his family with all his heart. He was such a proud husband and father.
As per Zack's wishes, no funeral services will be held.
If you would like to do anything for the family and in lieu of flowers, the most helpful would be donations to assist in paying for medical bills. An account has been set up at Zions Bank, the Zachary Cox memorial fund or Venmo @carly-cox-8
